Come to the Meetings

Coming to meetings is a great way to get involved with the PTO.

  • You can see first-hand all of the things the PTO does.
  • Vote on how funds and time will be spent.
  • Get to hear from administrators and teachers about new initiative and projects.
  • Meet a whole lot of parents from your child’s school!
  •

Childcare is provided at all meetings in the school gym to allow one (or both) parents or guardians to attend the meeting!

BONUS PERK: You can take on your own projects or get first dibs on the sign-up sheets! 😁

Join the Leadership Team

The PTO Leadership Team is made up of 5 parents/guardians with students attending either Monroe Elementary or Prairie City Elementary. You can see the current members of the Leadership Team by clicking HERE!

Positions:

  • President
  • Vice President (Monroe Parent)
  • Vice President (Prairie City Parent)
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer

The goal is to always have parent representatives from both schools on the Leadership Team. Outside of attending meetings, the Leadership Team members have specific roles they carry out. They often communicate about upcoming events, and they make sure that all promised or planned events and activities are completed.

The goal is to have parents/guardians of younger kids moving into Leadership Positions, so that parents are transitioning out of leadership roles as their kids enter 4th-5th grade.

It is in the best interest of the health of the organization that new people transition into these roles frequently (about every 2-3 years). All positions are voted on EVERY year.

If you are a parent/guardian of a PCM Elementary student and you’re interested in joining the Leadership Team, please email the PTO at [email protected], and we’ll contact you to discuss your interest.
